Today Monster Movie Media and Octal made an announcement that had grim grinning ghosts wriggling in ghoulish delight. Axelle Carolyn, Mike Mendez, Spooky Dan Walker, William Butler, and Rick West will be making appearances in James H. Carter II’s upcoming documentary, Foolish Mortals.

The Documentary, whose Kickstarter Campaign is still chugging along, aims to  answer the question: “What is it that about a creepy dark ride in the middle of the happiest place on earth that draws so many different types of people to it?” The production plans to travel the country in search of  hardcore Haunted Mansion fans to learn how this attraction has impacted their lives.

“Our team is really excited to include such high caliber people from the Horror and Theme Park
industries in our film! We are really looking forward to hearing how the Haunted Mansion has
influenced and impacted what they do for a living!” says Director James H. Carter II
“Foolish Mortals: A Haunted Mansion Documentary” is an examination of the fan culture
surrounding Disney’s Haunted Mansion attraction. Director James H Carter II will be digging
into the lives, creative work and experiences of the countless masses who have reached out to
share their interest in our mutual obsession, looking for the reasons they’re in love with this
attraction while unearthing the ghostly materials within.

Directors Axelle Carolyn (Soulmate, Tales of Halloween), Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider, Tales of Halloween), Spooky Dan Walker (Slay Belles), and actor/director William Butler (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood) are diehard Haunted Mansions fans who have incorporated the infamous ride into aspects of their films as well as their personal lives. We are also thrilled to interview Rick West (Theme Park Adventure) who not only is a lifelong fan of the Haunted Mansion but had the opportunity to work there in the 80’s.

James H. Carter II (Director and host of the Creepy Kingdom Podcast) and Ryan Grulich (Producer) bring a wealth of production value and a true affinity for the IP to the table. The duo will not be shooting the film on Disney grounds nor is this a revelatory look behind the scenes. This film will focus on the lore of the mansion and the hordes of fans that have been inspired by it. Already scheduled to appear in the film are Disney Imagineer Terri Harden, artist Nora See, special effects creator Robert Kurtzman, artist Topher Adam, and ‘Skin Wars’ contestant Butch Bihary.
