In this chilling supernatural story from cowriter-director Johannes Roberts, a family’s idyllic life abroad in Mumbai turns to tragedy — then terror. Maria, a young mother (Sarah Wayne Callies), is devastated after losing her son in a tragic accident , feeling crippling guilt over his death. Nothing seems to console her until her housekeeper explains of a way to reach her dead son. While the process will not bring the son back to life, she will have the chance to offer one final goodbye. When Maria travels to an ancient temple to undertake the ritual, she discovers the door that does indeed serve as a portal to the afterworld. In a fit of madness and sorrow she ignores a warning not to open the door, and the balance between life and death is upset.
