A new trailer was sent our way and you can color us intrigued. DISAPPEARANCE AT CLIFTON HILL is set in the rundown tourist pools of Niagra Falls and follows a woman intent on solving a mystery that has haunted her since childhood. The poster alone is phenomenal but let’s look at the trailer and see what’s up.

Synopsis: Following the death of her mother, Abby (Tuppence Middleton, The Imitation Game, Downton Abbey), a troubled young woman with a checkered past, returns to her hometown of Niagara Falls and the dilapidated motel her family used to run. While there, she finds herself drawn once again into a mystery that has haunted her since childhood: what happened to the young boy she saw being violently abducted in the woods twenty-five years ago?

As Abby sets out to find out the truth, she must confront both a shocking, long-buried conspiracy that runs as deep as the falls themselves as well as her own inner demons.

Very interesting. We have tinges of Fincher and Cronenberg with the man himself thrown in for good measure. I didn’t quite catch the comedy notes but this looks like a lurid, northeastern Twin Peaks set against a tourist trap. This one looks pretty fun and we can’t wait to see it.
