Here it is folks! Our first glimpse of the new film Winchester. Staring Academy Award Winner Helen Mirren as Sarah Winchester, we see that the film centers on the mystery surrounding the mansion in a perpetual state of construction, and the sanity of the heiress to the Winchester fortune.  Jason Clarke plays Eric Price, a man charged with investigating Winchester’s sanity. It seems that, from the trailer, he is in for a lot more than just a case of paranoid delusions and explainable incidents. See for yourself…

Partially filmed on location at the actual mansion in San Jose, Winchester is poised to capitalize on the fascinating lore surrounding this California landmark. Eccentric firearm heiress Sarah Winchester believes she is haunted by the souls of people killed by the Winchester repeating rifle. With her questionable sanity, and hands on the fortunes of an industry, a few folks are more than concerned. Of course, once there we learn the dark truth that sometimes everything is exactly as it seems.

Mirren pretty much looks like she will kill it as Sarah so we are more than a little excited. Let’s hope that they take a cue from brilliant films like The Conjuring and Annabelle and really restrain the gore, draw pout the scares, and deliver a film people will go nuts over.

Winchester is set to arrive in theatres on February 2nd, 2018 from CBS Films.
