A friend sent a short film to my e-mail this morning, and it kind of blew me away. I wasn’t expecting much from it, but in its less than 2 minutes, it was pretty much everything I want in a short horror film; great premise, super creepy, and great jump scares.

The film, Selfie From Hell, is the work of German student Meelah Adams, who is working on her bachelor’s thesis, which is about the effects of viral videos. This film is part of her studies.

The film was made in true DIY fashion, with Adams, and her friend, Erdal Ceylan. Shot over three days, and with post-production lasting five, it’s pretty impressive.

Seriously, it taps into our culture’s current obsession with selfies, and social media, and turns it into something pretty scary.
