In a brief, yet important statement, Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures have announced their plans for production to begin on a new installment of the billion-dollar SAW Franchise for a target release of October, 27, 2023. The new film will be directed by series vet Kevin Greutert, who directed the highly regarded Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, and edited Saw I through V and Jigsaw.

Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures have offered no hints in regards to the plot and characters. Those are under wraps. Still,  fans can be assured that the new film will make use of their eyes, their stomachs, and other body parts with all-new twisted, ingenious traps and a new mystery to solve. In short, expect plenty of blood, dismemberment, and moral choices made on the fly based on physical repercussions.

Producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules said, “We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love. And part of that is giving the reins to Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, which is still one of the fans’ favorites in the entire series. More details will be revealed soon.”

Let’s hope for the worst and expect the best, shall we?
