In preparation for the release of their new film Clown, available on demand and in select theaters on June 17th, Dimension Films has provided us with a series of production stills from the film. These images give us a further glimpse into the mental and physical decay that accompany our unassuming protagonist Kent’s descent into murderous mania following his son’s birthday party. Upon realizing the clown that was hired to entertain his son and his friends is a no-show, Kent decides the responsibility of filling those oversized shoes falls on him, but ends up getting more than he bargained for when he discovers the clown getup has fused to his skin and can no longer be removed without tearing his flesh asunder.

Things go from bad to worse as his body twists and contorts to complete his physical transformation as he develops an uncontrollable drive to murder children. Clown looks to be a truly unnerving experience that preys upon fears of the hidden agendas of clowns and dark, ancient forces that conspire to twist our bodies into vessels for satisfying their insidious ends. Can this horrible curse be broken, and at what cost? We’ll have to wait until the 17th to find out. In the meantime check out this new clip from the movie, it’s a bit hard to watch but it highlights some of the dark humor the film is looking to achieve. There is something sinister afoot, so remember to hold your kids extra close, lest the killer clown get the last laugh.
