The Curse of Valburga is politically incorrect black comedy with an abundance of violence and blood inspired by the trash horror/slasher films from late 70s and 80s. After good response of audience in slovenia, the film was distributed worldwide through euroobscura and through artsploitation in north america. The story is simple, caricatured and meant nothing but fun, and does not seek to provide its viewers with philosophical wisdom regarding the meaning of life. All the characters are a bunch of self-ironic caricatures with their own personalities, capabilities, and problems. However, this does not imply that the same applies for the actors and their performances – on the contrary. Their approach to acting is not caricatured, but serious and true – to – life. Idila / killbillies was screened on 45 different film festivals around the world and won 25 different awards, among them 9 for the best feature film.

About the Author

Ethan Allen was born and raised in the south bay (SoCal). At age 5 he was taken to the theater to see Halloween 2. Since that time he hasn’t been able to bite into an apple because of the fear of chomping down into a razor blade. At age 12 he went to his first haunt (Knotts Scary Farm) and only has missed a handful of years since then. Ethan has an unhealthy obsession with Elvira, 80’s slashers, and universal monsters which is borderline creepy.
