Today, new cast/interviewees for the upcoming doc Mental Health and Horror: A Documentary were announced and we have the first look at them. Mental Health and Horror: A Documentary is a feature-length documentary discussing the positive impact horror films can have. Since launching over 6 months ago, this project has added many voices from horror icons, fans, film critics, historians, directors, writers, and professionals from the mental health world.

 

The new additions include Nicholas Vince – Actor Hellraiser, Hellbound, Nightbreed; Matt Donato – Journalist and Host, Certified Forgotten; LG White – Fine Artist, Vocalist Caduta Massi; Izzy Lee – Filmmaker Innsmouth, My Monster; and Chelsea Rebecca – Host Dead Meat, Practical Folks.

“Over half a year ago, we broke ground and began production on MENTAL HEALTH & HORROR: A DOCUMENTARY. Since then, we have conducted nearly 30 interviews with people around the world. From horror fans to creators in the genre to mental health professionals who recognize the validity and positive impact that horror can have, our documentary is full of diverse, knowledgeable, passionate voices who have spoken their truths so that others don’t have to feel alone. Norman Gidney is a nearly lifelong horror fan. Beginning his love for the scare at the age of 5 by watching John Carpenter's Halloween, he set out on a quest to share his passion for all things spooky with the rest of the world.
