As the first film (Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them) ended, a single wisp of the mysterious Credence (Ezra Miller) slipped away indicating he might not be as dead as everyone thought and the auror Graves (Colin Farrell) turned out to be the notorious dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) in disguise.

Now, Grindelwald has made a daring escape and fled to Europe and Newt (Eddie Redmayne) is heading to Paris joined by Tina and Queenie Goldstein (Katherine Waterston and Alison Sudol) and No-Maj Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler). A mid-40’s Dumbledore will lend a wand as they track both Credence and Grindelwald. Along the way, the group will meet a string of new characters including a circus performer named Maledictus (Claudia Kim), a woman that carries a blood curse causing her to turn into a beast. The story will also dig into Newt’s past, examining his relationship with “close friend” Leta Lestrange (Zoe Kravitz) who is now engaged to Newt’s war-hero brother Theseus (Callum Turner).

The teaser certainly casts a spell as the still picture comes to life and then closes with the Deathly Hallows cleverly hidden in the title. With the film still a year away, where is a time turner when you need it?
