We can all agree that the Scandinavians are phenomenal at Christmas Horror. Rare Exports, Sint, Troll Hunter, all wonderful. Now we may get to add yet another ice cold tale of festive horror to the list with Reinert Kiil’s Christmas Blood.

Synopsis: A serial killer named Nissen has been haunting Norway every Christmas eve for 13 years. This year he has set his eyes on the north of the country. Unfortunately, a group of friends have decided to spend Christmas there happily unaware of the dangers that lay ahead of them. Detective Rasch and Hansen are determined to catch the killer before he strikes again, but with Christmas just around the corner, the two detectives are racing against time.

Okay, so that trailer looks amazing. Ditching the horror comedy approach of those that came before, Christmas Blood looks to be going for a hard-edged, nasty thriller. We see an almost Michael Myers-ish, pure evil type murderer on the loose who’s motives are unclear and unpredictable. We have a team of psychiatrists and police trying to stop him, and, most importantly, we have a parade of hapless victims.  Count us onboard.

Christmas Blood will be available December 11th on DVD and several VOD platforms including iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, YouTube/Google Play, Vudu, FandangoNOW and DISH
