Canadian Film Festival 2017 adds to its schedule award-winning horror film from producers and directors, Chad Archibald and Cody Calahan of Black Fawn Films The Heretics. The film will have its world premiere on March 22 at 9:30 pm at the Scotiabank Theatre Toronto.

After a successful screening at the European Film Market, Breakthrough Entertainment decided to bring the film to the Canadian Festival. The Heretics in the eighth film in a series of productions from Breakthrough. Bringing to film is an outstanding honor because Black Fawn has yet to hold a World Premiere in Canada.

The Heretics features a young girl who is abducted by a man after he claims that a cult is hunting her. His goal is to protect her until sunrise but while restrained, the young girl falls deathly ill. While her friends and family search for her, the source of her illness becomes more and more apparent. She’s not sick…she’s changing.

“It is such a thrill to present our latest film right here at home. We feel very fortunate as independent filmmakers to have the opportunity to give Canadian horror fans the first look,” said Chad Archibald, Writer/Director/Producer at Black Fawn Films.
