We aren’t exactly sure that we could be more excited for the upcoming film Annihilation. It stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny and Oscar Isaac. It was written and directed by Alex Garland (Ex Machina, 28 Days Later). It’s about… Okay wait. If you aren’t on board at this point check your pulse.

The film is about Natalie Portman as a biologist signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition where the laws of nature don’t apply. Vague logline, we know. but just watch the trailer. With Alex Garland adapting a novel by Jeff VanderMeer we know the script is going to be sharp. With Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and the swoon-worthy Oscar Isaac leading the cast, we know the performances will be wonderful, and Garland’s direction, this thing is promising to be an Oscar-worthy sci-fi pic.
