Josie has passed, and you have received her last will and testament. She has entrusted you with a storage room filled with memories and secrets. However…you’ve never met before.

This is the premise for The Nest, the debut show from Scout Expedition Co. Scout is led by creative directors Jarrett Lantz and Jeff Leinenveber, and is dedicated to the telling of unique and engaging stories set in richly detailed environments. While they are a new company, both Lantz and Leinenveber are not strangers to the world of storytelling. Both of them have worked with Walt Disney Imagineering, Third Rail Projects, Cirque du Soleil, and, our personal favorite, Delusion. So, of course, they know what they are doing!

In The Nest, you will be able to discover Josie’s life through her belongings. From their website:

As a young girl growing up in the 1960’s, Josie was gifted a tape recorder for her 12th birthday and began documenting every part her life. But in her old age, she has become almost unrecognizable, warped by the tragic events of her past.

“The Nest” is an immersive experience in Los Angeles that gives you the freedom to investigate her story. Equipped with a flashlight, search through personal effects, explore your surroundings, and listen to audio cassettes to piece together the dramatic narrative of Josie’s life.

While not horror-related, you know we are always suckers for good immersive theater, and this seems to be right up our alley!

When you purchase a ticket, you may either go alone OR attend with a friend. However, if you purchase and choose to go alone, they will not pair you up with someone else. I think this is a great idea, actually, and kudos to them for going this route.

The show will run Saturday, April 1st through Sunday, April 29th. Tickets are $45.
