This week in Horror History is chalked full of freaking goodness. No, really. If I’m lying, may sweet Satan drag me back to hell (honestly, I could use a vacation).

One of my ALL TIME favorite movies!

I remember sneaking into my living room, and turning on the local late night movie channel while my family soundly slept. The Shining was on, and no matter how tight fear gripped me, I could not look away. Kubrick, the master of the mind fuck, spins a beautiful web of suspense around the viewer. It almost makes you feel claustrophobic at times. If you haven’t seen this movie, stop reading this right now and make it a priority in your life.

If the zombie movie you’re about to watch has the word, “Dead”, in its title, then it’s more than likely tied to the great George A. Romero. This movie only fueled my fantasy of trying to live in a shopping mall. Only I didn’t have killer zombies trying to eat me alive in said fantasy. Or did I? YOU’LL NEVER KNOW!

What the deuce? This movie is almost as old as I am! and like myself, it still holds up to this day. This is also a, must see movie. If you haven’t, I… I just can’t help you anymore. Your parents obviously hated you as a child, and your friends think you smell funny. The Ridley Scott thriller will have you question if supporting our space exploration program is a good idea.

Nothing gets my blood pumping like watching, Grand Moff Tarkin, fight Dracula! That’s right. Most don’t know this, but Dracula was really rebelling against the Empire,  all while disguised as a blood sucking Transylvanian. I mean, who else got to play Van Helsing 5 times, and star in Star Wars? NO ONE!

Oh, Mr. Cushing, You complete us.
