Six Flags Magic Mountain invited us behind the construction walls to take a look at the major expansion plans they have as they prepare to begin vertical construction on their new thrill ride, Crazanity. Along with the new pendulum ride that will tower 170ft in the air, the midway game area will be rebranded as the new Boardwalk and the theme parks two classic flat rides, Sandblasters bumper cars and Scrambler, will receive full refurbishments as well. Additionally, Tidalwave will receive a brand new coat of paint as well.

The Boardwalk highlights include:

  • CraZanity – where 40 riders will experience speeds up to 75 miles-per-hour as they reach a world-record 17 stories high;
  • The pendulum swings back and forth while rotating counterclockwise;
  • As guests swing higher and higher, they will experience a feeling of weightlessness at 172 feet in the air; and,
  •  Enhanced Bumper Cars, renovated attractions, dining, games and shopping.

Below is full video of our tour of the construction site, along with a full photo gallery to look through.  Crazanity is planned to open summer 2018.
