For those who may not know, Joe Zaso is an actor and cooking connoisseur known for his roles in independent horror films like Barricade, Demonium, and Nikos the Impaler. In 2012 Zaso founded Cafe Himbo, a brand based around cooking his treasured family recipes and sharing those from his close friends in the horror industry.

Zaso’s newest title, The Comforts of Cafe Himbo and Friends, releases on September 17th and features comfort food recipes from Zaso and friends across the horror industry. Co-written by Beverly Orth-Geoghegan, it contains over 130 classic recipes from Stefania Casini (SUSPIRIA), Lynne Griffin (BLACK CHRISTMAS), Adrienne King (FRIDAY THE 13TH), Kelli Maroney (FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH), Irene Miracle (MIDNIGHT EXPRESS),  Elizabeth Shepherd (DAMIEN: OMEN II), Geretta Geretta (DEMONS), Iacopo Mariani (PROFONDO ROSSO), Silvia Collatini (HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY), Charles Busch (PSYCHO BEACH PARTY), and many more.

The full color 186-page book will launch at a special party at Rockbar NYC (185 Christopher Street) on September 17th, from 7PM to 11PM. Zaso will be on-hand to sign copies of the book, which will sell there for $20 softcover and $40 hardcover. Celebrity guests will be in attendance, with food, drinks, and wine for all.
