Mirka Andolfo’s critically acclaimed series Mercy is scheduled for release March 4th through Image Comics! The six-issue miniseries, recently launched in Italy by Panini Comics, will feature a slew of eye-popping alternate covers by industry veterans Artgerm and Enrico Marini. Mercy is described as a  Victorian gothic horror story for fans of Penny Dreadful, Crimson Peak, and Dark Shadows which thematically explores redemption, otherness, and what it means to be a monster. From Image:

Mirka Andolfo’s Mercy begins when the placid mining village of Woodsburgh is disturbed by a series of brutal murders, sending the settlement into turmoil. As the first snow covers the chaos in a white blanket, a mysterious woman in black arrives, eliciting a totally different kind of unrest. But who is Lady Hellaine, really? And what’s her secret agenda?

What’s more, a live-action trailer was released to accompany the series’ announcement. The trailer (which can be found here) introduces Lady Hellaine and her…unusual proclivities. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t leave me with a lot of questions, but I love the strange fate of the priest and the moody atmosphere of the whole thing. Mercy #1 covers A-F (that’s right, SIX different cover arts!) will be available March 4th at local comic shops and digitally across multiple platforms. Check out the covers and a small sneak peek below. I especially love the gory plant life and strange goat-like eyes on that first page:
