Producer, director, editor, and film distributor, Dustin Ferguson, has brought another science-fiction tale to life with his new revenge thriller, RoboWoman (2019). New images have been leaked ahead of its upcoming limited release for sci-fi thrillists to oggle and speculate over.

Synopsis: On her last night working at a temp agency, Vivica Stevens (Dawna Lee Heising) begrudgingly agrees a date with her persistent coworker. She soon finds herself cornered in a park where she is brutally attacked, raped, and left for dead by her date and his deranged friends. After being found by her roommate clinging to her life, Vivica subsequently undergoes an illegal experimental “cybernetic” procedure, giving her a robotic arm and a visor to correct her vision. However, the surgery wreaks havoc on both her body and brain, and before long, she decides to exact her revenge with the help of her new abilities. After attacker after attacker bites the dust, the movie comes to its shocking and revealing conclusion.

The film stars Dawna Lee Heising (Samurai Cop 2) as the woman scorned and transformed, Sue Price (Nemesis 2-5), Mel Novak (Game of Death), Vida Ghaffari (The Mindy Project), and Brinke Stevens (Slumber Party Massacre). This is not the first collaboration between director Dustin Ferguson and writer Mike Wreeb, who have brought recent horror films such as: House Of Pain (2018) and Nemesis 5 (2017), as well as the upcoming RoboWoman 2 already in pre-production. From the looks of the trailer, this looks to be a fun combination of 1970’s throwback mixed with future sensibilities of robotics, wrapped in narrative that is a vigorous nod to the relevant #MeToo movement. She dates, then she terminates! And we get to watch the bodies litter her path of revenge.

A grindhouse type movie about female empowerment that even the likes of Tarantino could appreciate, RoboWoman premiered at the Regency Valley Plaza 6 on  April 11th, complete with live Q&A and grindhouse trailers to enjoy.
