Indie horror project LECHUZA has just launched its Kickstarter campaign! The film, which draws inspiration from the likes of “Hereditary” and “The Evil Dead,” tells the story of a group of sisters who attempt to resurrect their deceased matriarch using a mysterious spell. But things quickly take a turn for the worse when they inadvertently summon a malevolent witch from Latin American folklore.

LECHUZA is the brainchild of writer and director Miguel Martinez, with production from Sam Jimenez and Valerie Frederick. The talented cast includes Amy Cassandra Martinez, Jude Salazar, Miriam Blanco, and Leslie Augustine.

The Kickstarter campaign has a fundraising goal of $10,000 and is set to end on March 23, 2023. If you’re interested in supporting this exciting new horror film, you can head to the project’s official website at www.lechuzafilm.com to make a contribution.

Of course, any film production comes with risks and challenges, and LECHUZA is no exception. The filmmakers acknowledge that getting the film seen by a wider audience will be a challenge, but they remain optimistic. Thanks to their previous film work, the filmmakers have established valuable connections in the film festival circuit that will hopefully help them achieve wider distribution and recognition.

For horror movie fans who want to see LECHUZA on the big screen, keep an eye out for any future announcements about festival screenings or theatrical releases. With a talented team and a thrilling premise, LECHUZA is shaping up to be a must-see for horror enthusiasts everywhere.
