Members of the all-girl punk rock band “Kill, Pussy, Kill!” must fight for their lives and attempt to outwit an unknown assailant after finding themselves trapped in a madman’s maze.

The horrors of war are graphically portrayed in the opening sequence of the new rock and roll, horror movie, Halloween Pussy Trap Kill Kill. A soldier and his tactical partner are overtaken by Pakistani terrorists. One is beheaded, the other, Captain Lewis, (Paul Logan) is shot and, the faceless soldier that we soon come to know as The Mastermind (Jed Rowen) has his face skinned as he screams in pain. What does this have to do with Halloween or a band called Kill, Pussy, Kill?

It’s a stretch. We flash forward to the titular band leaving one gig to head to another. During a lover’s spat between DJ Speed (Demetrius Stear) and Misty Megan Strange (Kelly McCart), a mysterious (not really) man in a wheelchair comes to the woman’s defense. Of course things do not go well and the wheelchair bound fellow ominously wishes the entire band, “Happy Halloween.” Through a series of events the group soon wakes up in a locked facility ala SAW, and forced to play life and death games of elimination in order for one of them to potentially survive, all overseen by the vengeful wheelchair-bound veteran.

No. None of it makes any kind of sense other than to facilitate what the writer director, Jared Cohn, was trying to emulate. We have bits of Saw, Green Room, and even a bit of Lynchian absurdity in the glimpses into The Mastermind’s home life. Yet with all of its aspirations to pay homage to the films that inspired it, things never gel. What could have been a gruesome and hilarious mix of genres with a punk attitude thrown in, just comes off as weak. So frustrating too as the set up of a girl band learning to fight for survival against the frustrated patriarchy could have been mined for so much potential. Not even Richard Greico’s ham fisted performance could save this thing.

Skip this track. It’s not as good as the album art.
