Conley Entertainment Group today announced their appointment of veteran horror journalist Sean Decker as the company’s Director of Development. Decker’s duties will include assisting in guiding the production company’s horror-centric genre arm, on the heels of the World Premiere of their feature independent horror/thriller THE BASEMENT last month at Hollywood, CA’s Shriekfest Film Festival. Decker, a current writer at the respected and long-running horror outlet Dread Central and former editor/writer at genre mastheads Universal Studios’ Horror Online, Fangoria Magazine and FEARnet, has over twenty years of experience within the horror genre, as well as producing and writing credits within it.

“I’m beyond humbled and very excited to work with Conley and his team to develop and produce a slate of original, quality horror films,” Decker said of his appointment to the position (another example of Hollywood’s recent filling of their executive ranks with high-profile journalists). “Beginning in 1997 at Horror Online, then with Michael Gingold and Tony Timpone at Fangoria, and later with Steve Barton and the incredible folks at Dread Central, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to work in the genre I’ve loved since I was a boy. I look forward to bringing that passion and experience to bare in helping to develop and produce a slate of compelling horror films for CEG.”

“Sean came very highly recommended by high level industry insiders, and we’re ecstatic that he has agreed to join our team.” Said Brian Conley, founder and CEO of Conley Entertainment Group. Conley Entertainment Group’s first feature film, A CHRISTMAS IN NEW YORK, starring Jaime Ray Newman (“The Punisher”), Jamie Bamber (“Battlestar Galactica”), Christopher Backus (“Bosch”), Linda Park (“Jurassic Park III”) and Tracie Thoms (“Death Proof”) was released worldwide on November 21st, 2017 by Gravitas and Shoreline Entertainment.

CEG’s second feature film, THE BASEMENT, co-written and co-directed by Conley and Nathan Ives, is currently touring the film festival circuit, having recently made its world premiere at the Shriekfest Film Festival in Los Angeles. Starring Mischa Barton (“The Sixth Sense”), Jackson Davis (“Lonelygirl15”), Cayleb Long and Bailey Anne Borders (“The Fifth Wave”), the horror film has received multiple nominations and awards, as well as a number of rave reviews. Remy Cashman of HorrorBuzz wrote, “Conley and Ives have succeeded in making thrilling and unpredictable. ”
