What’s up, Horror fam? It’s another gory day in the neighborhood, and I cannot wait to dive into this week’s HorrorGram with you. A lot of you out there in the land of the web are probably familiar with (and watch to death) the various YouTube horror makeup tutorials, in loom of this year’s Hallow’s Eve. Come on, it’s not just me. Is it? I thought so. I can totally see you sweating, curled up in the corner rocking back and forth, because the video isn’t properly buffering! U-verse, that’s some really horrific shit.

Well, most of those videos you’re addicted to only focus on the face. What if I told you it was possible to transform your whole body into a horrific work of art that’s sure to scare Grandma’s colostomy bag to the brim. Yes, horror fam, I’m speaking about body painting. One of my personal favorites on the gram is, Corie Willet. While her work is certainly not limited to the macabre, her ability to use the human form as a living canvas is unquestioned. So let’s marvel together at the works of, Corie Willet, our HorrorGram – Horror Bodypaint artist (because I’m starting to get the shakes!).

I love the way Corie plays with negative space of her canvas to create depth, and sometimes give off the illusion of missing and/or floating body pieces. Imagine turning the corner of your favorite haunt, or answering the door to some trick or treaters, and coming face to face with a severed head on a pike! Ugh, I’m picturing it as we speak.

Practical (and impressive) effects like Corie’s body painting can bring your next scare to a whole new level. Even the addition of UV based paints crank up the volume in her work. Let’s not forget the awesome horror movie body paints she creates. We LOVE her “They Live”, and Barbara from Beetlejuice body paints. Maybe if I saw her Instagram handle 3 times, she will appear and paint me up to look like a zombiefied Stay Puft Marshmallow Man!

A boy can dream, can’t he? Well, my minions. That’s all the time we have for today (I need to take a breather). Flawless work like Corie Willet’s body paint can take a lot out of you. Have you ever tried to create your own scary look using the art of body painting? If so, hashtag up some pictures for us to double tap by using the hashtag #HorrorBuzzBodyPaint. Be as creative as you can be, and maybe I’ll mess myself.

Scare ya, next week!
