Man, o’man! As the clock feverishly counts down, I wait with baited breath for Halloween. Until then, I only get to see monsters in my dreams. That might freak out some, but you have to understand. Monsters are my people! Now, if I was really smart, I’d figure out a way to capitalize on my wishes for a year round Halloween. If I could be like someone, I would be like Dominic Qwek! Dominic is an amazing sculptor, who creates monsters and creatures (traditionally and digitally). Any guess why he’s our feature Horror Artist? PAY ATTENTION, PEOPLE! The man not only gets to create on his own time, but our Horror Artist also gets paid to make more awesome art. My priorities are all screwed up, in hindsight. With art heroes like H.R. Giger, Takayuki Takeya, and Zdzislaw Beksinski, it’s no wonder Dominic is so successful with his creations. By the looks of things, he should be out at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego. If you’re attending, stop by his booth and tell him that HorrorBuzz sent ya!
If you haven’t yet, stop by Dominic’s website shop. Sure, you can purchase art prints, resin kits, etc. but you can also get in on his tutorials! Ever look at some of our artist pieces and wonder, “how the heck do they do that?!” Well, now you can get in on the fun, and make your own with his creature workshops. With all the insanity going on in the world today, what we need are more creatives in this world. Put down the guns, and pick up a ZBrush!
