Here we are.  The final Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights Tracker before the big opening event next Friday, September 15th. We return to the park for a final slice of pics and video, along with the prolific tweeting of the ringleader in all of this horror madness, Mr. John Murdy.

It has been a busy couple of weeks for Universal Hollywood HHN. Both Insidious: Beyond the Further and The Horrors of Blumhouse were announced one after the other. Then of course we already had The Walking Dead, The Shining, American Horror Story: Your Roanoke Nightmare,  The Titans of Terror Maze, Terror Tram: Titans of Terror with Chucky, Saw: The Games of Jigsaw, and Ash Vs. Evil Dead . That’s eight mazes total, the most ever at Universal Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights.

Murdy tweeted a recap saying…

Eight mazes, early entry every day, and a list of possible mazes that will open early. NICE!

@HorrorNights Tweet Round-Up

We have to thank John Murdy for keeping us all up-to-date despite also being the guy at the center of the action. What’s more we thank you Mr. Murdy, for helping us write this column! Here we go over the odds and ends since the last HHN Tracker. THis includes the new commercial for HHN by director Eli Roth, updates on Scare Academy, and an homage to the legendary horror director, Tobe Hooper.

UPPER LOT

Here we have more progress on the new retail space coming together at the front of the park. This will be nice when done. We will have a cohesively themed entryway into the park now.

The Passport to Fear events are one-night, special ticketed meet-ups at the best haunts in southern California. We take you behind the scenes, introduce you to the creators of the haunted attractions you love, and march you to the front of the line. It’s a guided tour of terror sold only by HorrorBuzz.

Tickets to the four events are on sale NOW  here on the site.

Titans of Terror

Okay. So here we have what has been called Maze number 4 by Murdy in his tweets. Speculation is pointing to this one being the Titans of Terror Maze and we are thinking the ominous brick pillar might have a clue.

The Horrors of Blumhouse

We finally know that this will be the long-rumored Blumhouse mash-up maze. Murdy drops some details on how this new maze will be a little unique. Murdy explained through tweets that the Horrors of Blumhouse would begin OUTSIDE the courtyard in the Universal Plaza in an unusual layout.

Terror Tram – Titans of Terror

The Titans of Terror with Chucky has been announced is the Terror Tram theme for this year. Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, and Chucky driving the tram. well, seems legit enough. There is plenty of progress to be seen now with basic maze fencing going up and even those terrifying torn sheets. We begin at the Bates Motel.

LOWER LOT

Heading to the lower lot we go to check on the progress on The Shining and Insidious: Beyond the Further.

Starway

The Starway is fully functional with only a few minor final touches.

The Shining

Murdy has been busy at work slathering the elevators with blood and placing the twins in the hallways of the Overlook Hotel. This one will be a fiendish slow burn.

Insidious: Beyond the Further

Here are a few more tweets about the Insidious 4: Beyond the Further maze.

BACKLOT

On the Backlot we see everything nearly set up for the hordes of horror junkies along with the Urban Inferno scare zone.

Ash Vs. Evil Dead

Really hoping that Ash. Vs. Evil Dead knocks it out of the park. This has the potential to be a raucous good time with gore to spare.

Saw: The Games of Jigsaw

The facade for Saw is all up and we are set to get trapped.

Maze 3: American Horror Story: Your Roanoke Nightmare – Backlot

The American Horror Story: Your Roanoke Nightmare is ne.arly in shape. We love the facade, inviting us in to the terrors of season 6.

Thank you for reading the bi-weekly HHN Trackers and taking this wild journey in anticipation of Universal Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights. Tell us, what maze are you most excited for?
