The Majestic Repertory Theatre is ready to kick off its Eighth Season with a blood-curdling scream, but don’t worry; it’s all in good fun. Get ready for “Scream’d: An Unauthorized Musical Parody,” a satirical take on the iconic 1996 meta-horror classic, “Scream.” This Vegas premiere is a collaboration between Majestic Repertory Theatre and Nightmare Toys, promising to deliver a night of side-splitting horror hilarity.

Based on the original storyline of small-town teens threatened by a movie-savvy masked killer and the courageous young heroine who takes on the challenge, “Scream’d: An Unauthorized Musical Parody” cranks up the nostalgia dial with a playlist featuring hits from the late ’90s. Expect to hear chart-toppers from No Doubt, Britney Spears, N’Sync, and more, all performed live by a talented rock band.

Following the Path of Success

Majestic Repertory Theatre knows how to hit the sweet spot of humor and horror. After their successful production of “The Craft: An Unauthorized Musical Parody” in early 2022, which gave another late ’90s teen horror film the same treatment, the show became an instant hit. It saw numerous extensions and even a successful remount in Kansas City.

Artistic Director Troy Heard reflects on the success, saying, “We really tapped into the zeitgeist. Gen X moms came with their Gen Z daughters. Groups arrived cosplaying characters from the movie. The experience had a real party vibe, with audiences shouting out lines from the movie.”

A Season of Fun and Frights

For Majestic Repertory Theatre’s Eighth Season, they’ve set their sights on creating a season filled with excitement and nostalgia. “Scream” was the natural choice for their next parody production, as it still holds a significant place in popular culture.

The show kicks off on Thursday, September 1st, and runs every weekend until November 4th, with special performances leading up to the Halloween holiday. Individual tickets and Season Passes are available now, so grab yours before they vanish like a ghost in the night.

VIP Experience

For those seeking an extra thrill, there’s a VIP option that includes cabaret tables, putting you right in the heart of the action. And don’t forget to dust off your old ’90s costumes and get ready to scream with laughter because Scream cosplay is encouraged, with bad ’90s hairstyles being purely optional.

Get ready for a night of horror, humor, and unforgettable musical parodies with “Scream’d” at the Majestic Repertory Theatre.
