EDITOR’S NOTE: Since publication of this article, several allegations of sexual assault and abuse have come to light against one of the creators of Nocturnal Fandango. We at HorrorBuzz believe that horror and immersive experiences should be a safe space for everyone, and can longer recommend their shows in good faith. We will leave the article as originally published below, but urge you to think twice before attending any of their shows.

For the last few months, I have been involved in my own personal narrative for Sudden Loneliness Gift, the latest “season” from the folks over at Nocturnal Fandango. While I did not participate in their initial effort, Have You Seen Jake, I jumped full force into this year’s story line, and I am incredibly glad I did.

I’ve been pretty vocal on social media about how impressed I have been with their work. Even here on the site, a few weeks ago, I wrote about their last show, “Water and fire”. The Organizers behind this have a knack for making each show intimate, and personalized, for every participant.

The final, fully realized experience for this season, “Yesterday, today and tomorrow,” is coming up next month, and they are opening three (3) slots to newcomers who wish to join.

While there is indeed a few months of story that has taken place so far, The Organizers have ensured me that this is a standalone experience, and you do not need to read pages of backstory to understand what is to happen. However, should you want to, they are more than happy to help bring you up to speed (and so will the incredibly welcoming community…myself included). I definitely recommend getting a least a passing knowledge of what has transpired so far, because it will definitely make the overall narrative that much richer for you.

The final experience from last year’s Have You Seen Jake was presented in much the same way; a few folks went without partaking in the on-going story line and loved every moment of it. In fact, many of them were eager to return for Sudden Loneliness Gift. That should speak volumes about the quality of the shows that Nocturnal Fandango puts on.

“Yesterday, today and tomorrow” will be an overnight experience in Joshua Tree, CA, taking place across a few locations within that area on Sunday, November 12 into Monday, November 13. The ticket cost is $235.

The price of admission will cover the experience itself, along with dinner for the evening, but not accommodations. However, many of us are carpooling / lodging together, and I am more than happy to invite you into our AirBnB group should you decide to join us.

I realize that is a high ticket price, but trust me when I say it is absolutely worth the cost. Every step of my journey so far this year has impressed me more and more. The folks at Nocturnal Fandango know how to craft a fine story…not just about the larger story-arch they are trying to tell, but one for each person participating. This is truly immersive theater at its finest, and I highly recommend it.
