There’s no denying that we love our escape rooms. They are a great way to exercise your mind AND escape into another really for an hour. THE BASEMENT, located in Sylmar, CA (just north of LA!) is one of our favorites. Not only was it the first major escape room to be in the Los Angeles area but it is also one of the best.

The story of demented killer Edward Tandy has been playing out over three rooms at their LA location for the past few years, and each new chapter definitely ups the ante. My personal favorite of the three has always been the Boiler Room. However, that particular room is closely shortly…only to be replaced by a NEW chapter two in the story of Tandy’s madness.

That new chapter is the Elevator Shaft.

From The Basement’s website:

About 3 months ago, Edward hired a man named John Peterson to help him make some “engineering changes” to an elevator shaft on his property. John quickly figured out that these changes he was being asked to make were indeed sinister in nature. When he confronted Edward, he was told that he could not leave until the project was finished or else his wife and daughter would pay the price.

The project is complete and John is long dead. You’ve found yourself locked inside the elevator shaft. Will you and your friends be able to follow the steps John put in place for you? Or will you perish under the weight of a 6 ton steel elevator?

This is the highest tech room we have built at The Basement and it delivers a level of realism and intensity that is unmatched in the world of Escape Rooms as it exists today.

I cannot tell you how excited we are for this. Kayden Michael Ressell and his team over at the Basement are known for their fantastily themed environments, wonderfully wicked puzzles, and great stories. We have no doubt that the Elevator Shaft will be a great addition to their roster.

Tickets for the Elevator Shaft are now on sale! You can find them at: https://thebasementla.com/elevator.php

Good luck…you’ll need it.
