You are locked in a room, and you have 60 minutes to find a way out. Circus music plays (and plays and plays) as your friends search the room for clues or keys or secret messages that will then lead you to other clues or keys or secret messages, which will in turn lead you to…well, you get the idea.

The Fun House is a new escape room in town, and it is a whole lot of…er…fun (sorry). Cross Roads Escape Game, the same people responsible for The Hex Room, have built this brand new experience and it is just as crazy and messed up (in a good way) as their other room.

When you are locked up in The Fun House, you are surrounded by circus acts, magicians, calliope music, and clowns clowns clowns.  Not exactly a horror-based room (unless clowns totally freak you out, then it would be terrifying), but still puzzling and unique. Without giving too much away I can tell you there are secret hidden rooms you must find your way into, boxes within boxes to untangle and decipher, doors that go nowhere, and you might even get to do a magic trick! Oh, and it certainly does help if you’ve got a few friends with you. An extra set of hands (or two…or three) is not a bad thing to have…handy (sorry again).

We had six in our group, and that seemed like a nice number of folks to have.  Even though we’ve done quite a few escape rooms over the past year, this one still challenged our wits and made us think. We took a few wrong turns, but we eventually made it out with over fourteen minutes to spare!

And we didn’t even have to ask Zoltar for help.
