xparasites-jpg-pagespeed-ic-gbvl4k1n3cShriekfest Film Festival returns to Raleigh Studios Chaplin theartes October 6th-9th, 2016 to celebrate its 16th year of Horror/Sci-fi film diversity. The Film Festival will showcase 52 films over the span of 4 days and nights. Shriekfest is excited to showcase an abundance of diverse independent filmmakers. Film Submission came from all over the world, from United Kingdom to New York, and from Texas to France, this festival is sure to have something for everyone.

Opening night the festival will screen Parasites starring Robert Milano, with short from Australia, Canada, United Kindgom, and then the world premiere of Dead Awaken written by Jeffrey Reddrick. Although the festival will present many foreign films, American independent films will also have a presence such as: Gehenna-Where Death Lives (Doug Jones & Lance Henriksen), Cold Moon (Josh Stewart, Christopher Llyod) Occupants, Capture Kill Release, Peelers, and Paramedics. Short films will also make an appearnace: Girl #2, Blight, Brentwood Strangler, Eveless, Surgery, and The Amazing Mr. Moji.

What makes a horror film a horror film? Well Shriekfest sets out to challenge this question by screening films such as: ecectric selesction The Light Thiefscience fiction Fly Spy, comedy How Deep Can I Go? and The Disappearance of Willie Bingham. These short film will test the idea of what it means to be a horror film.

The price for Shriekfest Film Festival 2016 is $10.00 per block. An All-Fest Pass, for all four days, available on their website is $140.00. The All-Fest Pass includes the opening night party and guaranteed entrance to all film and Q&A’s. All the films in the Festival are unrated unless otherwise noted, meaning no person under the age of 17 will be admitted without a parent or guardian’s accompaniment or permission.
