Here to preemptively address the post-Halloween blues is the MidSummer Scream team by announcing their dates for 2017! The fabulously spooky Halloween Festival will return to the Long Beach Convention Center July 29th-30th. The event serves as the unofficial kick off to the Halloween season in Southern California and in its first year attracted hordes of fiendish monsters and fans of all things scary. If the inaugural year is any indication of what is to come, we expect the return of major movers and shakers in the industry including Knott’s Scary Farm (complete with all-new audio equipment tour), Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, Six Flags Fright Fest, Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights, and more!

You can see all of our great coverage from last years event here.

Executive Director David Markland spoke with HorrorBuzz on the announcement, saying, “The best part about Midsummer Scream 2017? There is no post-Halloween depression. Sure, I’ll be putting away some of my more extreme Halloween home decor, but that’s just to start planning for next year. And this goes for the whole Midsummer Scream team — all season long we’ve been seeing what all the awesome haunters and crafters and other Halloween addicts have been up to, giving us so many inspirations and ideas of what to bring to Midsummer Scream next year!”

Frankly we can’t wait! This is gonna be a GREAT YEAR!
