Detective Eva returns to her hometown of Silverhöjd after her estranged father Johan Thörnblad’s suicide. Seven years have passed and the loss of Eva’s daughter, Josephine, still haunts her but another young boy’s similar missing case leads Eva to uncover Silverhöjd’s supernatural secrets that many wish to keep buried.
Every new episode reveals a new secret and this episode is no different. The forest is coming alive and it will no longer be kept quiet. As Thörnbald’s Company continues to destroy the forest, the forest will stop at nothing to keep its home and it is willing to do whatever it takes, even take a child.
Eva may have discovered a way to save Josephine but the price may be too high to pay. Everyone in town has a loved one to lose but time may not be on their side. With each passing day, a new murder occurs. This time it was a young teenage boy, but his death may lead Detective Tom and Wass to a potential suspect and answers.
Tom struggles with the possibility of losing Ida, his only child. Although Tom would do anything to keep Ida with him, Silverhöjd is not the safest place for children. The missing case and murders are putting a strain on his ability to look like a good father. He will have to make the hardest decision of his life, give up Ida or give up his job.
Detective Wass’ true identity is revealed in this episode and we do not know how to feel about this. He has been the quiet and attentive detective through the series yet this new revelation could change the path of the investigation.
