American Horror Story is coming back, and in a big way.

After four years of some pretty bizarre, horrific, and surprising storytelling, the show is looking to reinvent itself in season five, according to FX President John Landgraf.

This new storyline, subtitled Hotel, is inspired by the 1935 screwball musical comedy, Top Hat, which starred Fred Astaire as a tap dancer who falls in love with the woman in the room below him in his hotel. The show has already begun production in Los Angeles, where the story is set, but no other details have emerged yet.

This season also marks the first time that Jessica Lange, who has been the leading lady (and woman after my own heart) for years, won’t be returning to the series. Instead, Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, will be stepping into the spotlight.

Gaga recently took to Twitter and posted a photo, directed toward series creator Ryan Murphy, showing off her blond hair, which is she is sporting for the role.

Joining Lady Gaga will be a bevy of other stars, such as White Collar’s Matt Bomer, who had a guest stint during last season’s Freak Show. Cheyenne Jackson will also be checking in, having previously worked with Murphy on Glee. Also new to the series is New Girl’s Max Greenfield, who Murphy said will be seen in a completely new way.

Returning American Horror Story stars include Angela Basset, Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters.

Speaking of Peters, he recently told the press that “I don’t know if it’ll be anything like The Shining but anything in a hotel is terrifying. Just the energies, the different energies in the rooms and I have a feeling that the set are going to be gorgeous this year.”

Although there is no official premiere date yet, we will assume that American Horror Story: Hotel will arrive sometime in October 2015.
