SLAMDANCE 2021 – The fact that the very sad situation covered in I think it’s enough isn’t it? isn’t a rare occurrence goes to show how bad this uniquely impactful last year has been for many. Still, however often it may occur en masse just once is enough for those who lose a loved one and are denied a goodbye. I have some firsthand examples of my own, unfortunately.

This one’s a brief five minutes, but I believe it succinctly covers what it’s trying to so anything else would have been extraneous. A daughter narrates some thoughts about her father being separated from all loved ones while at a hospital due to Covid-19 restrictions both while he was ill and then even after passing away. It’s obviously a bit on the somber side, but that’s to be expected given the subject matter. I wouldn’t call I think it’s enough isn’t it? a downer, though, as all the footage (and the fact this short film exists) makes clear there was plenty of love and happiness to go around.

All the video footage of the old VHS videotape quality featured in I think it’s enough isn’t it? recalls many videos of my own history and the memories associated so I can only imagine what going through what was no doubt hours and hours of footage brought up for the filmmaker. Anyway, I could relay each spoken line and summarize every video clip but this one’s definitely heavier on the emotion of it all than an emotionless summary and I believe you get the idea.

I think it’s enough isn’t it? is currently playing at Slamdance 2021.
