Everyone we know is different in their own way, and more so than ever we are taught that our differences are something to celebrate. Sometimes though it feels like what makes us different is a bad thing or something that makes us less desirable. What can be even more difficult is if what changes our differences is something that we had no control over. The Vegan Zombie is a story of a man that confronts the hardship and dramatic change in his life with positivity.

Colin tells the camera crew and by extension the audience that sad story of how a trip to the farmers market ended with him being zombified. When he thought that being undead was the worst of his troubles he soon found out that people don’t really appreciate zombies in their neighborhood whether or not they’re vegan. To fight these injustices Colin creates The Organization of the Friendly Undead in the hopes that he can easy the people into a better relationship between the living and the undead. We follow Colin on an average day of him trying to spread the good word of friendly zombies to little avail. However, in a stroke of good/ bad luck, he makes a big step for his cause and maybe one for his personal life.

The Vegan Zombie is one of those rare little gems where you watch it with a grin and feel great the whole time. Colin is just so overwhelmingly positive that things will get better if he keeps trying that you can’t help but root for him. I can confidently say that I could see this doing very well as an online series or even the kind you would see on Hulu or Netflix. All I know is that I was having a pretty crumby day and watching Colin try so hard and succeed in the end made me feel great and I would love to see him again soon. The pulse may have left his body long ago but The Vegan Zombie still retains a lot of heart.
