Universal Studios Hollywood kicked off the return of yuletide celebrations with Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Grinchmas at the Studio City theme park after being absent of holiday cheer since 2019 due to the worldwide pandemic.  Beginning November 26, 2021, and running through January 9, 2022, Hogwarts castle transforms into a dazzling light projection spectacular, bringing merriment to the land after night falls.

During the day, visitors can enjoy all that the highly themed area has to offer including special treats at the Three Broomsticks along with the return of warm Butterbeer. Yes, it IS as good as it sounds. You can also pick up a selection of custom-made Christmas ornaments.

Then, as night falls, guests are invited to take a spot in front of Hogwarts Castle to experience the magic of Christmas. This year brings the same eye-popping magic we have grown to love from a show at Hogwarts.

It is amazing just how awesome normal feels. Everyone has their own level of comfort in these weird times, as indicated by the pics, but we are back in Hogsmead, in front of Hogwarts, at Christmas. Still, for those hesitant to brave the crowds, we share the video below. Suffice it to say we haven’t figured out a way to record the savory taste of bangers and mash or shepherd’s pie from The Three Broomsticks just yet.
