Eiza González

Eiza González and Aaron Paul have been confirmed to star in the new sci-fi thriller ASH, directed by Flying Lotus and based on an original screenplay written by Jonni Remmler. The film will be produced by XYZ Films and GFC Films, with Neill Blomkamp and Echo Lake onboard as executive producers. Flying Lotus will also compose an original score. XYZ Films is co-financing alongside IPR.VC, with production commencing in New Zealand in May.

Plot Synopsis ASH follows the story of a woman (Gonzalez) who wakes up on a distant planet and discovers that the crew of her space station has been killed. She must then decide whether she can trust the man (Paul) sent to rescue her.

Cast Eiza González is known for her work in Edgar Wright’s BABY DRIVER, J. Blakeson’s I CARE A LOT, and Apple TV+ series “Extrapolations.” She will also be seen in David Benioff and D.B Weiss’s (“Game of Thrones”) series, THREE BODY PROBLEM for Netflix and is currently filming MINISTRY OF AN UNGENTLEMENLY WARFARE directed by Guy Ritchie.

Aaron Paul

Aaron Paul recently starred in the sci-fi film DUAL, a Sundance official selection from XYZ Films. He is best known for his iconic role of Jesse in AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” and “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.” He has also appeared in HBO’s “Westworld” and THE PARTS YOU LOSE.

Production and Crew ASH serves as a follow-up collaboration between XYZ and GFC, having previously worked together on the NZ Oscar entry THE DEAD LANDS from Toa Fraser, which was presented to the US market by James Cameron. Flying Lotus is known for his work as a Grammy Award-winning producer, composer, filmmaker, and rapper. He will be composing an original score for the film.

Current Projects XYZ’s current projects include BLACKBERRY, starring Amanda Seyfried and directed by Matt Johnson, SEVEN VEILS directed by Atom Egoyan, and Sundance selection RUN RABBIT RUN with Sarah Snook. Its current slate also includes GOD IS A BULLET starring Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maika Monroe, and Jamie Foxx, NOCEBO directed by Lorcan Finnegan with Eva Green and Mark Strong, and ACCUSED from BAFTA-nominated BOILING POINT director Phillip Barantini. XYZ is in post-production on the Netflix Original HAVOC, directed by Gareth Evans and starring Tom Hardy and Forest Whitaker.

GFC Films’ current titles include A MISTAKE, Christine Jeffs medical drama currently in post-production with Elizabeth Banks in the lead and THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A F*CK based on Mark Manson’s global and No.1 New York Times best seller.

Echo Lake Entertainment is currently producing “The Great” for Hulu which was nominated for numerous awards in its first two seasons.
