Assemble Entertainment and solo developer Tainted Pact have teamed up to bring us a new horror-survival game called Suffer the Night. The game, available now on Steam, GOG, and itch.io, features a terrifying descent into survival horror madness with the added bonus of classic dungeon crawler gameplay. In this game, players must survive a violent storm and the horrors that follow while playing as Stacey Liden, a horror illustrator trapped in a secluded cabin.

After receiving a mysterious floppy disk in an envelope, Stacey boots it up on her old computer and begins playing a text-based adventure game. As she progresses, she is visited by a mysterious and threatening stranger who urges her to finish the game. Soon, the strange and horrifying things within the game begin leaking into the real world, and Stacey must do everything she can to survive.

Suffer the Night combines campy 80’s slasher vibes with anxiety-inducing first-person survival horror. The game offers a unique blend of horror and dungeon crawler gameplay that is sure to keep players on edge. As Stacey fights for survival, players will experience a terrifying descent into madness that will keep them coming back for more.

In celebration of the release of Suffer the Night, Assemble Entertainment has released the Dimensional Horror Bundle. In this bundle, Suffer the Night is featured alongside DreadXP’s Mirror Forge, one of the most popular indie horror games on the market.

Some key feature of Suffer the Night include the following:
  • True “First-Person” Horror: After surviving the first chapter of Mr. Top’s “game within a game”, the real terror begins. Forces beyond comprehension have transported you INTO the grotesque game world, giving a new meaning to “survival horror”.
  • Horror Beyond Comprehension: A highlight of this title is the text-based dungeon crawler “game within a game” filled with grisly scenarios and vivid descriptions of the atrocities wherein. Players will need to flex their old-school gaming muscles to progress within the stories, both inside the Eldrixon and out.
  • Don’t Let Him In: While playing through the floppy disk game, the mysterious figure who delivered it isn’t shy about making his presence known. Be sure to address any…interruptions…he causes, or suffer the consequences.
  • A Chilling Combination: Suffer the Night expertly weaves two genres of horror games into one, balancing the chilling anxiety of the text-based adventure with the dread of first-person survival horror
