Midsummer Scream has revealed the details of the 2022 Hall of Shadows that will run as part of the Halloween and Horror festival July 29-31 at the Long Beach Convention Center. The “theme” of this year’s Hall of Shadows is “Halloween Comes Home” and will again be the unique, darkened section of the convention where guests will be able to experience displays and mini haunts from pros and home haunters alike. This will be the biggest iteration of the Hall of Shadows yet, being almost 100,000 square feet in size.

CalHauntS will once again be creating the entry portal from the show floor into the Hall of Shadows. This year’s entry is called “Midsummer Estates” and will feature a small neighborhood with homes decorated for the community’s annual Halloween Festival. Beyond “Midsummer Estates”, guests will find 17 other haunts and attractions waiting in the darkness. Hall of Shadows will be in operation Saturday and Sunday, July 30-31 from show open to close; it will not be operational Friday, July 29th as haunters put the final touches on their amazing creations.

“Hall of Shadows is a celebration of the creativity on display by some of the amazing haunters here in SoCal each year. I truly feel that what they accomplish in such a short amount of time is a temporary art exhibit; it lasts for a couple of days, and then is gone forever,” says Rick West, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Midsummer Scream. It’s true though. This is one of the things that makes Midsummer Scream so unique. You can actually sample haunts. It’s also a wonderful gateway scare for the fright-curious.
