New turn-based fighting game, Fights in Tight Spaces, is entering early access on February 24th, 2021. Described as a tactical fighting deckbuilder, Mode 7 and Ground Shatter are excited to be releasing it on Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.com.

On consoles, the game has been exclusively available in Xbox Game Preview since last November, and will be getting an early release on Xbox One, as well as an optimized version for Xbox Series X|S.

Synopsis: Reminiscent of a classic action movie, Fights in Tight Spaces displays hair-raising fight animations in a turn-based tactic style, while adding in the unique asset of deck-building. As the player encounters random events and thinks on their feet to prepare for any upcoming fights, they also pick from over 150 different cards to build a personalized deck that fits their individual play style.

Some key features include:

  • Control the Space: Use the environment against your adversaries
  • Train your Abilities: Build a deck to suit your play style, upgrade your moves, and equip your agent with a range of enhancements
  • Protect High-Value-Targets: Use your skills and abilities as you act as bodyguard to VIPs
  • Endless Threats: With a new mission each time your play, evolve your tactics, unlock new possibilities, and perfect your strategy to defeat the criminal underworld

Fights In Tight Spaces (Announcement Trailer)
The high contrast of colors dividing the player from the enemies is such a clean style, especially with the light grayscale, almost minimalist background. And yes, while there is certainly blood spatter as you fight your way through swarms of enemies, the simple graphic style makes it easy to stomach for anyone possibly sensitive to it.

With the trailer boasting the wide variety of actions you can make in combat, such as shoving an enemy’s head into the bar, or even shoving the ambassador you’re set to protect out of the way, this heart-racing game definitely seems intriguing for anyone wanting to live in a John Wick fighting-style for a day.
