Zoetrope Interactive and Iceberg Interactive are excited to reveal that their Lovecraftian Horror Adventure Conarium has emerged on the Nintendo Switch eShop! It’s available to buy now in Europe and to pre-order in North America, releasing on February 4th.

Synopsis: This dark horror game will be $19.99 plus a 15% launch discount for a limited time. Conarium follows the player, as Frank Gilman, as he and other scientists explore an Antarctic base in order to learn the “limits of nature.” However, he wakes up one day alone in the base with the “Conarium device,” a strange piece of technology that assists in transcending human consciousness.

In order to find out what happened to the fellow scientists, Frank must explore this ominous base, solve puzzles, and investigate his surroundings, all while experiencing odd visions that feel like forgotten memories.

Some of the key features include:

  • A deep and suspense-filled Lovecraftian story with lots of secrets and Easter eggs
  • Ominous but wonderful graphics created with Unreal Engine 4
  • Multiple endings
  • A haunting and atmospheric soundtrack

This short trailer doesn’t show any gameplay, but it does introduce Switch players to the overall chilling environment this game is set in. Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s novella “At the Mountains of Madness,” Conarium was originally released in 2017 on Steam, and then again in 2019 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Now the Nintendo Switch follows suit in receiving this port as the game continues its terrifying legacy.

Mostly positive existing reviews of Conarium on previous consoles paint this unique game in a good light; however, now having the ability to take this psychological horror with you on the go is now even more of an advantage, and would easily be worth giving a try by mature fans of horror everywhere.
