During The Game Awards 2020, gamers everywhere were hit with many surprises. One of which was, not only is the Capcom Arcade System set to hit the Nintendo Switch Store digitally sometime in February 2021, but the Ghosts ‘n Goblins franchise is getting a reboot with Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection

The original series debuted over 35 years ago as an arcade title back on September 19, 1985. Since then, we have seen multiple chapters in the series, such as Ghosts ‘n Goblins: Gold Knights (I & II), and Ultimate Ghosts ‘n Goblins. This latest addition brings together original and new fans alike with this modern take on platform gameplay and new challenges.

This nostalgic yet revitalising reboot follows the brave knight Arthur throughout his mission in the Demon Realm, as he fights his way through difficult new obstacles, even encountering familiar enemies such as the Zombie, Pigman, and more. Multiple difficulty settings are even available to provide a challenge for any player: Squire, Knight and Legend.

In order to rescue the princess from the terrifying Demon Lord, Arthur must defeat these foes, and master the use of not only familiar weapons such as the Lance or Dagger, but also some all-new additions like the Hammer and Spiked Ball.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is set for digital release on the Nintendo Switch on February 25, 2021 for $29.99.

That isn’t all, however, as the Capcom Arcade System is also set for release sometime in February 2021. More information on this will be announced at a later date, but until then, we do know there will be 32 classic Capcom titles available when the time comes, including the original Ghosts ‘n Goblins, bringing together both old-school arcade fans, and new ones alike. Keep an eye out for more information regarding these hot takes!
