Given the entire state of the world right now, we are seeing game announcements come in numerous different ways. Whether it’s game trailers being dropped randomly on Twitter, or in the case of All In! Games, who dropped Of Bird and Cage during Gamescom 2020. This metal-music driven game will be released sometime in 2021 on both PC and consoles, giving us a unique game to look forward to after this holiday season!
Synopsis: Fans of metal music will immediately be immersed directly into an album, where the music drives the entire plotline. Of Bird and Cage is based on the story of “Beauty and the Beast,” where players will be taking the role of Gitta, a young girl attempting to escape from a mysterious man, only known to us as Bres so far. This story will be completely synced with metal music, performed by featured artists such as:
Kobra Paige (Kobra and the Lotus)
Davidavi ‘Vidi’ Dolev (Gunned Down Horses)
Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses)
Rob van der Loo (Epica)
Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation)
Casey Grillo (ex-Kamelot)
Rocky Grey (ex-Evanescence)
Mike Lepond (Symphony X)
Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria)
Review of Trailer: This ominous trailer immediately intrigued me, can’t even lie about that. It’s incredibly vague, only giving us viewers a slight taste of what’s to come, but that’s exactly what’s drawing me in. We see multiple scenes where Gitta is being restrained by this ominous man, with cuts of live metal concerts in between. The graphics are absolutely stunning, realistic but with a slight comic book feel to it. Mature themes are hinted at throughout, which leads me to believe there could be a Stockholm Syndrome concept. In all honesty, this trailer does some amazing justice to the game, truly making us here at HorrorBuzz excited for its release.
