Found footage/POV horror films can be a bit tricky. Sometimes they can be a bit cheesy or feel “cheap” since the intended style is to look like it was filmed on a personal camera. This film looks like it may have fallen into that trap. That being said, the story is intriguing and may prove to have a lot more to it than meets the eye. That combined with likeable actors and There could be a hidden gem to be found in this found footage film.

Directed by Marcel Walz (Blood Feast) and written by Mario von Czapiewski, Rootwood stars Elissa Dowling (Death House), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Tyler Gallant (Alpha Wolf), Sarah French (The Amityville Murders), Tiffani Fest (Circus of the Dead), and Brandon Rhea (Fearless). Enter the forests of Rootwood at your own risk on DVD April 7…there are things that go bump in the night.
