A new crowdfunding campaign has been launched for the upcoming graphic novel INVASION NANO SAPIENS and we think it is worth a look.  Based on a screenplay the novel is the first step in introducing audiences to the INVASION NANO SAPIENS universe. But as with all dreams, they have to start somewhere.

STORY OVERVIEW

Fulton Bengis is a maverick bio-engineer turned doctor who uses an evolutionary algorithm to create a living nanobot blood to kill disease and save humans. His colleagues rant that artificially making these nanobots is unnatural, hubristic, and playing God can lead him into “no man’s land” where he’ll never return. Nevertheless, Fulton moves forward into human trials. Carl Galasantos, his nemesis, is a lonely ex-spy working as an exec at a pharmaceutical company aligned with Fulton’s hospital. Galasantos attempts to steal Fulton’s secret nanobot formula so he can sell it to the highest bidder and disappear into a better life without danger.

Alison, the love of Fulton’s life has a terminal disease and not long to live. Fulton gives her a dose of nanobot blood to kill her disease. At first, the infusion leaves her galvanized, like an athlete on a performance-enhancing drug. She chatters incessantly, a ton of swearing, becomes super-intelligent, performs extraordinary feats of swimming underwater for miles without emerging for air – and, to Fulton’s bemusement, her expanded stamina extends into the bedroom. Then she dies. Buried. Strangely resurrected, she shows up at Fulton’s lab as the Alison swarm, part human, part nanobot. Gradually, however, her terminal disease begins to kill the nanobots, and the nanobots increasing anger forces the Alison swarm to devour humans; using human cells as resources they need to replicate and finally kill the disease inside her. Fulton tries to stop the Alison swarm but the biological kill-switches in the nanobots aren’t working. Fulton realizes he has a deadly battle ahead of him…

Invasion Nano Sapiens the graphic novel is inspired by The Fly with Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis in the sense it’s about a budding love story interrupted by science gone wrong, where Alison is turned into a monster; and the Borg of Star trek, where the Borg nanoprobes like the nanobots in INS probe inside Alison, rebuilding her, guiding her and ultimately controlling her to do what ever they tell her to.
