It was revealed earlier this month, that new features would be included for Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition for the Nintendo Switch. This reveal was made by Matt Walker, a producer from the Capcom development team. February 20th is when the game is set to launch. One of its new features has been confirmed through a part one of a special video message series. Players will now have the ability to seamlessly switch combat styles that further the title’s well known gripping continuous action sequences. More information regarding the rest of the additions was released on January 30th and February 13th.
The seamless style switch option gives players the capability to switch between six combat styles in-game. At the start, there are four that are accessible with two others that become unlocked as players make their way through the game. Thrilling new SSStylish combos will have a greater possibility with the more fluid combat choices thanks to the new feature. The gameplay of the new feature can be found in a previous live stream posted to the Devil May Cry social media outlets.
The Special Edition, now capable of on the go play for the first time, will have a couple more additions brought to the Nintendo Switch. Vergil has become a playable character and there is now a survival mode with 9,999 floors of the “Bloody Palace”.
Pre-orders are now available through the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch for Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition. MRSP is $19.99 with an attached special promotion for those who purchase the game before its release. Pre-orders for the Special Edition for the Nintendo Switch will receive a 50% discount for Devil May Cry and/or Devil May Cry 2. This special promotion has been made available to North American players.
Unveiling years before the original Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition stands as a prequel. Dante’s path leading up to his battle with his twin brother, Vergil, is where this origin story takes place and expands on the DMC universe. In order to prevent the world from being overrun by demons, Dante must wield his sword Rebellion and dual pistols Ebony and Ivory against Vergil in an attempt to prevent him from unlocking the demonic realm gate.
