4Digital Media has unveiled the official trailer AND poster for INVASION PLANET EARTH, a new sci-fi thriller written by Simon Cox and Simon Bovey, and directed and produced by Cox. The film also stars Simon Haycock, Lucy Drive, Toyah Willcox, Sophie Anderson, Julie Hoult, Danny Steele, and Ian Brooker.

Synopsis: After the death of his young daughter, Thomas Dunn is a broken man. When his wife falls pregnant again, he cannot believe their luck. However, his joy is short lived, as on the very same day, the people of Earth become plagued with terrifying visions of the end of the world. When a gigantic, all-consuming alien mothership appears in the sky and launches a ruthless attack on Earth’s cities, chaos and destruction follows.

Oof. There’s a lot to take in here. I don’t like to harp on low budgets for films (since they can usually be put to good use), but it is REALLY hard to make a low budget sci-fi film, especially one with such ambitious visual defects–whoops, I meant effects–as this one. Even for a straight-to-video feature, it’s practically begging the viewer to lose interest halfway through. But hey, that’s just my opinion.

Invasion Planet Earth will be released February 4, 2020 on VOD, Digital HD, and DVD.

About the Author

From humble beginnings as a bisexual art kid who drank more coffee than a 40-year-old author, Remy now holds a BFA in Film Production from Chapman University and is a proud member of the HorrorBuzz team (and still a bisexual art kid who drinks too much coffee). They were first introduced to the world of horror and camp when their grandma showed them The Rocky Horror Picture Show at age 5, and never looked back. When they're not writing cartoons or working on movies, one can spot them in various clubs around Los Angeles performing very, very self-deprecating standup comedy. Howdy ho!
