Emerald Wolf Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for DEATH TRAP, a new horror feature directed by Deandra Spinner and produced by Christopher Smith and Darien Moultrie. The film also stars Bruce Klefstad, Emma Butler, Laith Wallschleger, Mercedes Gutierrez, Nicholas Denmon, Dafni Sufra, and Troy Brookins.
Synopsis: Death Trap follows the story of six friends on Halloween 1999 in what promises to be a night of mischief and debauchery. The night quickly turns sour when a deadly combination of Florida wildlife, inclement tropical weather, and a youthful assumption of invincibility leaves the group stranded in the dark interior of the night, and cross paths with sadistic Baptist zealots.
Given the vibe, I hope the film leans as far into its extreme campiness as possible; this could either be a fun 90s throwback ride with an in-on-the-joke humor, or something that is genuinely not self-aware which would probably prove disastrous. I guess there’s only one way to find out, and that’s to give this film a chance.
Death Trap will premiere on the festival circuit in the coming months of 2020.
