Today Paramount Pictures released the trailer for A QUIET PLACE 2. The follow up to the wildly successful John Krasinski monster flick picks up after the events of the first film, following the remainder of the Abbot Family as they venture into the unknown. With the first film being such a critical and commercial success, it was only a foregone conclusion that we would see the sonically inclined creatures again.

Synopsis: Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Wow. So it appears that A Quiet Place 2 will not only follow the events of the first film, but it will flashback to the moments when the monsters first attacked. Opening with the title of DAY 1, we see mass hysteria as a town is overrun by the monsters while inside a speeding car with the Abbott’s. Pretty amazing. We next get a look at the world outside the family compound, with the survivors of the first film making the journey toward what is left of civilization.

If Krasinski proved anything with the first movie, it is that he is savvy with plot and keeping things fresh and exciting. Let’s hope this one takes us on another wild ride.
