Do you feel it? That chill in the air, that merriment, that tinge of peppermint everything? Yes, Knott’s Merry Farm is back now through January 5th to overwhelm visitors to Knott’s Berry Farm with undeniable charm and the homespun Christmas cheer that this park does so well.

Tradition reigns supreme with the likes of returning favorites such as the Mery Christmas Snoopy Ice Show alongside new offerings in the wonderful Home For The Holidays stage show at Calico Square. Total there are 14 different entertainment offerings throughout the day. That’s not to mention the tradition of food and lots of it. Starting off with the Thanksgiving Dinner Balls, the Turkey Egg Rolls, the White Christmas Pizza, the Egg Nog Milkshakes and so much more.

While we much prefer the scary, Knott’s Berry Farm is just as good at doing the Merry. The fog rolls back, the monsters creep back to the dark corners, and out come the carolers, the snow, and of course, Santa.

Merry Christmas Snoopy

Back again this year is the very traditional classic ice show spectacular MERRY CHRISTMAS SNOOPY! Let’s be clear, it really isn’t Christmas without seeing this wonderful pageant of holiday sentiments. The staging is again, perfect, the lighting, the snow, the talent, everything is perfect. However, tradition is a double-edged sword in this case as we would love to see some updates to the riot of yuletide imagery music. Regardless, this one is still a must-see.

Home For The Holidays

Knott’s Entertainment has outdone themselves with the all-new stage show, HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, performed outdoors on the Calico Stage. Performed as a traditional stage musical, this lavish production features a massive cast, an unfolding set, and pretty much every Christmas song you can imagine rolled into a story of comfort and glad-tidings. Our advice would be to find your seats early, send someone from the group to grab some hot cocoa about 20 mins before showtime, and settle in for a glitzy, nostalgia overload.

Snow and Glow

Snow and Glow is back! What is that you ask? It’s snow in Ghost Town with a 5-minute spectacle of music and synchronized lights. A real Christmas moment if there ever was one. The best place to catch this is in front of Ghost Town Grill on Main Street, but there are a ton of other spots throughout the town.

Knott’s has done well to offer this charming bit of winter magic but a few things would really push it into the stratosphere. While the John Williams Home Alone music is wonderful and does the job, we need new music and more of it. We also need a bolstered light display that better connects with the interactive lanterns that are for sale. The idea is great, we just need more. After all, that is what Christmas is all about.

Merchandise

Knott’s has really stepped up their merchandise game this year. We now have items that connect visitors to a time and place which is Knott’s Merry Farm 2019. That’s not to mention the wit and charm in some of the offerings. Nicely done Knott’s Merch!

FOOD!

Ok. The only thing that outshines the entertainment is the insane amount of seasonal food offerings at Knott’s Merry Farm. Bring your Lactaid, your antacids, your charcoal capsules, because you will simply not be able to stop yourself from eating the mouthwatering dishes being served.

Our personal favorites for the food were the Turkey Potato balls, the White Christmas Pizza, The Turkey Egg Rolls, the Mac and Cheese Lorraine, the Stromboli, the crispy green beans, the egg nog shake, and the apple pie pizza. Seriously this stuff was so good.

Other offerings include Gingerbread Churros, Mulled Wine, all of the peppermint bark, hot cocoa, sweet potato fries poutine, Chicago Christmas Dogs, turkey pasty, cranberry apricot wild boar sausage, Maple pecan funnel cake, hot chocolate mini-bundt cakes, holiday stuffed doughnuts, cake pops, and chocolate crepes.

Santa’s Cabin

Back again is the warm and inviting Santa’s Cabin. Here, family’s can queue up inside and meet Santa Claus while munching on a collection of Christmas treats. It’s more amazing food, one on one time with Santa, and warmth.

Again, Knott’s Merry Farm is THE place to see Christmas in Southern California. Knott’s has the perfect mix of family fun and down-home Holiday cheer. No, it’s not Halloween, it’s not scary, and it’s certainly not horror. But when our friends at the farm do something, they do it well.

Tickets can be purchased online (recommended) here.

See you in the snow!
